This is a batch of 10 auction. They’re all going out the door at a firesale starting bid of $24.99. That’s less than $2.50 per domain name! They’re all registered at godaddy and have many months to go before they are due for renewal. Some of these are almost 4 years old!

Roulettex has a sale going on at eBay. There’s 12 of them of varying quality.
I wouldn’t have put this at more than $500 but to my surprise, there’s a day to go and there’s already 19 bids pushing the sale at $1000..! My guess is that either 5 letter domains are picking up steam or someone named Lardson or Gupsy has caught wind of this auction and wants to buy their own name! :)

Adsense clicking is the core revenue engine of google and I’ve put it on auction for anyone who has an idea in mind to build a site around this…

It no bull. Check the whois. It’s just been created on 2nd Feb and now parked at fabulous. It’s registered to Xedoc Holding from Luxembourg. At $161k, I thought the buyer would have been CNET who owns shopper.com. Either Xedoc Holding has a good value add for this domain or they’re intending to hold CNET for high ransom…
There are a few oddities about this latest breaking news though..
I’m also not the only one who thinks $161k was too high.
All 99999 NNNNN dot coms were completely registered this month ( ~16th Feb). This marks a significant milestone in the domain name industry as it signifies a growing demand and valuation of domain names. As the world comes online, there is more and more money to be made from the growing number of web users, there are more and more webtreneurs being made, more and more brick and mortar shops wanting a web presence, and as a result, more and more demand for domain names (!).
Up to as late as a week before they were fully bought out, you could still of gotten some good value nnnnn’s. Check out these two that were bought on the 10th Feb!
Most people think that NNNNN are junk or that they are only valuable as a postcode. The reality though, is that these numbered domains are being snapped up by entrepreneurial Chinese webmasters and used as a portal for Chinese content. The reason why they are popular with the Chinese is because of the huge boom they are experiencing there. All of a sudden, a lot of people have a lot of money and a lot of people can suddenly afford a computer to get online. The problem though is that nearly all of them can’t read English. Thus, they have a huge problem remembering domain names, even if they are as easy as abc.com. In this case, 123.com is infinitely more valuable than abc.com. This is why you’ll see that NNNNN.com’s are actually turned into websites rather than just being parked like 80% of the LLLL.com’s.
Those who were smart enough to snap up the NNNNN’s recently have already seen their investment triple in value - NNNNN.com’s are now trading at more than $30 a piece!
It’s a week of re-auctions this week. First it was xshare.com which still hasn’t reached its reserve yet despite being $15,100. Fiera.com is back in the market and yet again, I’ve pushed it up to over $1000 but the reserve still hasn’t been reached. The guy wants $3,000+ judging by his statement on his website but seeing that it maxed out at $1250 last time, I doubt with 6 hours to go that it’s going to fetch that much.
If you missed it last time, fiera means ‘fair’ in Italian (as in a trade fair) and it’s been registered since 1996 - one of the oldest domains on the market. The oldest I have is one from 1999 so it’d be a ripper to get one even earlier than that!
External Link: Fiera.com auction at eBay
I can’t believe what I’m seeing with this ripper auction. It’s for a domain that according to my whois has been registered since 1999 and the opening bid was $1.49 with NO RESERVE. The domain in question… no it’s not ajdsjhgi2.com, but a keyword rich…
wow! kaching!
Harry Fiorentinos of Cabrini Enterprises is the owner. He doesn’t look like he knows the value of this domain cos he didn’t even market it right. The auction says online since 2001 but he really should have said it’s been registered since 1999!
I want this!

Dynadot is a popular registrar for international domains, especially chinese ones. There expired marketplace, however, can also be a good untapped haven for unloved domains or failed business ideas:
and of course, where there’s an expired domain sale, there’s a littering of adult domains…
you may remember that xshare.com was passed in last week for a little over a grand. It’s back on this week and currently at $15,000 but it’s still not met the reserve. I previously guessed his reserve at $10,000 but looks like I’m completely wrong. Maybe he read my post and rethought his price :) At $15,000 that’s getting on the expensive side for me so I’m going to pass this one up.

Something tells me his new reserve is probably $50,000 and he figures that even if he doesn’t sell, he gets great exposure for his site.

I’ve grown tired of using other people’s whois scripts and having to type in captcha codes or waiting minutes for whois.sc to load up all their other overloaded stuffing that I don’t need. Introducing my very own whois script that spits out the exact whois result…
It’s not pretty yet but it can be easily accessed by
http://www.domainholics.com/whois/anydomainname.com
or from
http://www.domainholics.com/tools/whois.php
Feel free to use it as you please. Next up, a domain name scanner!
For those who are also interested in their own whois script, there’s plenty of resources around. The main part of the code is simply to do a whois call to port 43 of the whois server you nominate
$sock = fsockopen($server, 43) or die('Error Connecting To Server:' . $server);
fputs($sock, "$domain\r\n");
I cheated and started off with Matthew Jewell’s code here: php bulk domain availability check
I’ve reported before that all LLLL.com domains have now been registered and voiced my opinion that most of them are largely a waste of money but one particular eBay auction today was definitely anything but.

I narrowly missed out in some frenzied last minute action with my $2001 bid trumpetted by Drissel54 who has been snapping up a lot of other LLLL dot COMs. His Winning Bid of $2900 was surely a super investment as some of these are probably worth more than that by itself…

Apparently this guy paid $17,000 for NewMovie.com back in 2004
and now he’s auctioning it off starting at 99 cents and NO RESERVE!!
Quick. It ends in 15 hours and is only just over a grand - bargain!

Update: Sold to HugoCells for $6,970 who seems to be more interested in phones rather than domain names. His latest purchase is a lot of 44 dodgy samsungs that may have fallen off the back of truck :)

and for the adult industry inclined…

Alright stop pretending now. You all know what Hustler is and have read their magazines and watched a few of their movies.iHustlers.com could probably be confused with the hustler brand but it can also be just a group of iHustle fashion fanatics. It’s probably thrawt with trademark issues but it’s one of those border line ones where its quite generic and if you’re in a different industry (eg. iHustlers.com could be easily be a sports site), you could easily get away with it. I’m not touching it cos I’m sticking with my moto of staying away from trademark issues but if you’re game then it’s yours for $5 @ tdnam.

2007 was the year of the blogger - made even more by the likes of TechCrunch, Mashable, Gizmodo, and HuffingtonPost. Now everyone (including myself) wants a piece of the action. Darren Rowse has his ProBlogger blog showing people how to make a successful blog and Yaro Starak has just started his BecomeABlogger.com venture. What Yaro probably really should get is RookieBlogger.com… or maybe I should get it and sell it to Yaro for a quick nasty profit :)

There’s some easy money to be made with image hosting. Just have a look at PhotoBucket.com which was acquired last year by Rupert Murdoch’s MySpace for a huge $300 million. With a swag of open source image galleries out there, all you really need is a server farm, a ton of bandwidth, and of course… you guess it.. a wicked domain name like ShutterBucket.com.
To be a successul domainer, you need to stay abreast of the latest industry trends, news, and technology. Like when the wii or ipod came out and the first people to register wii / ipod related domains made a quick killing. I wouldn’t have done it as the wii and ipod are trademarked names.
A new technology has just been introduced which I think will be the next industry standard in short ranged, wireless communications. It’s called GiFi and is the result of 10 years work by PHd students at my local University of Melbourne! The technology promises to transmit five gigabits per second over distances of up to 10 metres..!! It’s a tiny chip with a 1mm antenna that manufacturers can include in their devices for under $10. Sooner or later, all devices will be GiFi ready and all talking to each other!
I’ve just snapped up GIFINETWORK.COM and GIFIPRODUCTS.COM. Since they are descriptive words then these domains are fair game. I will use them as info on how to set up a GiFi network and also an online store or portal for selling GiFi products :)
What about you? Let me know if you register any GiFi related domains. Pretty much any gifi related domain is available at this early stage except for gifi.com (helf by a cccc.com investor) and gifimobile.com (a car company???). Here’s some you might like:

She may be a nobody now but it’s looking more and more likely that America will have its first black president…
Michelle was born on January 17, 1964, to Marian and Fraser Robinson on Chicago’s South Side and graduated from Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in Chicago’s West Loop. After high school Michelle went on to Princeton University where in 1985 she graduated with a B.A. in sociology and a minor in African American studies. After college, Michelle continued her education at Harvard Law School, where she earned her degree in 1988.
For three years after law school, Michelle worked as an associate in the area of marketing and intellectual property at Chicago law firm Sidley and Austin, where she met Barack Obama. She left the corporate law world in 1991 to pursue a career in public service, serving as an assistant to the mayor and then as the assistant commissioner of planning and development for the City of Chicago.
In 1993, she became the founding executive director of Public Allies - Chicago, a leadership training program that received AmeriCorps National Service funding and helped young adults develop skills for future careers in the public sector.
Michelle began her involvement with the University of Chicago in 1996. As associate dean of student services, she developed the University’s first community service program. Michelle also served as executive director of community and external affairs until 2005, when she was appointed vice president of community and external affairs at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She also managed the business diversity program.
Michelle has fostered the University of Chicago’s relationship with the surrounding community and developed the diversity program, making them both integral parts of the Medical Center’s mission.
Barack, Michelle and their two daughters Malia, 9, and Sasha, 6, live on the south side of Chicago, where they attend Trinity United Church of Christ.
… and you could have the first black president’s wife’s domain name :P

I’m not really into American politics so I’m going to give this a miss.
When you look at the sort of numbers DigitalPoint, SitePoint, Earners Forum, and Young Entrepreneurs are pulling in, it makes you want to start your own internet forum / chat room geared around making money online, affiliate income, adsense, seo, whatever it takes to get people talking and in the end, line your own pockets. Having a memorable and related domain name is a big step forward and if it is good enough, I think it will take you a third of the way there. DollarTalks.com could be just take domain. I like it so much that I’ve almost forked out the $5 to buy this but decided against it since I’ve already got too many on my plate and starting a forum would absolutely consume 200% of my time.
If you’re as in to making money online as I am though and have enough time on your hands to really build the next digitalpoint, then head over to tdnam and closeout dollartalks.com now!
Haha.. that got you looking. I’ve decided to let go of one of those domain names I registered because I thought (and still do) it was absolutely hilarious!
It’s a nice brandable name.. almost as valuable as AussieBum.com except that Aussie Bums are obviously much hotter :p

Anyway, enough of the small talk, I’m letting this one go as part of my promotion drive for this website. Do stick around and check out the super bargain domain names I’ve painstakingly eyed out :)

That’s right, this is not an auction. Buy it NOW for $50 or make me your best offer and I’ll take it if there’s no more interest and it’s good enough.
Every now and then, eBay has just some of the most ripper domains that sell for obscenely undervalued domains - is no one monitoring eBay at all? FinestRoses.com is one of those that don’t come by very often. The online flower market is extremely lucrative with massive margins made on flowers - especially on valentines day! For resellers this is probably worth $50, for the end user, this is priceless!

Someone’s already snapped up the xteasers.com since I posted about it a few hours ago. If that was you, how bout dropping a line below to say hi so I don’t feel like I’m talking to myself all the time :).
Well, for those who missed out, here’s another ripper at tdnam. It’s…
When I first saw it, I was thinking this could be one of those hire-a-hubby sites - It’s a great use of the word ‘man’ for a tradee company and has a similar ring to the MANcations.com site. When I went to google manaid though, I was surprised to see that some people’s surname - how unfortunate! Imagine if you were Justine Manaid… Bad for her but gold for us. Now we have a brandable business name AND someone’s surname. You better snap this one up for $5 quick.

There’s a new underground syndicate sprouting out every day that offers to pay people for clicking on ads or has a reciprical reward system in place. I certainly don’t condone this just like how I do not condone cyber squating, but there is an industry there and if someone has found a legitimate, legal system for rewarding clicks, then I’ve found the perfer domain auctioning at eBay.
Domain: RewardForClicks.com
and in much the same vain, there’s bogusbidders.com also available and ending in a few hours.

If you missed out on xshare.com (the $1000 bid was obviously under its reserve!), you might be interested in xteasers.com - it’s the cheaper alternative and it’s going out at a bargain closeout amount of $5 @ godaddy’s TDNAM service for expired domain names. If you snap it up in the next day, it won’t drop which means you will have yourself a domain that’s 3 years old!
Domain: xteasers.com
Registrar: Godaddy
Created on: 14-Jan-05
Expires on: 14-Jan-08
The best thing about these closeouts is that it’s first in first serve. There’s no auction so if you complete the purchase, all you’re waiting for is for the domain owner to not renew the domain in the next 7 days. If the current domain owners does renew, you get your $5 back. There’s nothing to lose and everything to gain! The downside of these closeouts is that it’s very easy to lose out on a good domain because someone else has seen it before you do. “Teasers” is a massively huge keyword with almost 10 million google results!
You will quickly become a TDNAM addict after this! The list of expired names is huge though and it’s often like looking for a needle in a haystack for good quality names to register. However, at $5, it’s also often worth the effort. ;)
